Panthers take down Tamarac


CLUMS CORNERS, N.Y.— The Hoosick Falls wrestling team won a league matchup on Thursday, topping Tamarac, 54-30.

Wins by pin for the Panthers came from Nolan Foster (14 seconds), Lucas Brogue, Drew Hoag, Bryan Thomas, Jake Pine, Alex Hull and Gabe Fisher.

Pine's fall came in the third period while losing, while Hull's came in 31 seconds at heavyweight.

Sam Richard won by 3-2 decision, Logan Powers scored a 4-0 decision and Matt LaPorte added a major decision, 8-0, at 99 pounds.

Hoosick Falls still unbeaten

HOOSICK, N.Y.>> The Hoosick Falls bowling team beat Granville on Thursday, 4-0. Hoosick Falls had a match total of 3,378 to Granville's 2,086.

Josh McCart led the way for the Panthers with a 238 high game, 641 series. The rest of the Panthers were over 550 — A.J. Hurlburt 225-587, Kyla Day 204-567, Jennifer Sargood 219-555, and Jon Bossoni 203-550. Granville's leading bowler was Dawson Goodspeed with a 199-514.

Hoosick Falls is 24-0 and Granville has a match total record of 0-8.
