One injured in Shaftsbury crash

SHAFTSBURY — A man received minor injuries in a two-car crash on East Road on Saturday afternoon, according to Vermont State Police.

Kevin Banes, 38, was traveling north near Trumbull Hill Road at about 2:46 p.m. when he lost control of the 2012 Nissan Rogue he was driving, troopers said in a news release. The SUV struck a tree of the shoulder of the roadway and collided with a 2017 Ford F-150 being driven by Shawn Thibodeau, 37,

Police said both men, who are from Shaftsbury, were wearing seat belts. Banes was taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington for minor injuries.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Walt's Towing and All-Service Auto Repair. The Shaftsbury Fire Department and Bennington Rescue Squad responded to the scene.
