NY man dies after incident in Vt. home; woman hurt
DANBY (AP) -- A New York man was shot to death after stabbing an ex-girlfriend who had previously accused him of abuse, Vermont State Police said Monday.
Aaron Allen, 28, of Hudson Falls, N.Y. was shot twice by the woman’s current boyfriend early Sunday evening at the woman’s Danby home, police said.
Police learned early Monday morning that Allen had died.
The woman, whose name was not released, was hospitalized with stab wounds, but she is expected to recover.
Police say Allen arrived at the woman’s residence in Danby early Sunday where he attacked and stabbed her multiple times.
Michael White, 24, of Danby, the woman’s current boyfriend, witnessed the attack and shot white twice with a rifle.
There is no word on whether White will be charged.
The woman had an active restraining order against Allen, who also had charges pending against him from April involving the same woman. The charges included unlawful imprisonment.
Once the investigation is complete it will be turned over to the Rutland County state’s attorney for review, police said.
