NJ man pronounced dead after sledding accident at Stratton

WINHALL - A New Jersey man died early Saturday morning after sustaining an injury while sledding on the Lower Tamarac ski trail at Stratton Mountain Resort.

Winhall Police responded to a 2:40 a.m. report of an injured person to find Lawrence Walck, 45, of Pittstown, N.J., unresponsive on the trail, according to a press release.

Efforts made to resuscitate Walk were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to police, Walck had been out sledding with friends at the time of his injury.

An investigation is ongoing. Cause of death is pending results of an autopsy to be conducted by the Medical Examiner's office.
