New York motorcyclists involved in collision

WOODFORD — Two motorcyclists from New York sustained several injuries after a collision on Sunday morning.

Police responded to the crash on Route 9 in Woodford east of Notch Road where Goran S. Vucetic, 52, of Clifton Park, N.Y. attempted to pass four motorcycles that were traveling eastbound, Shaftsbury Trooper Benjamin Barton reported.

The road veered slightly left at the time Vucetic attempted to safely return to his lane of travel after passing the fourth motorcycle. He lost control of his 2015 Harley Davidson and came into contact with a rock wall and telephone pole and was ejected from the motorcycle.

Anthony, 59, and Amy Lombardi, of Berne, N.Y., were riding a 2011 Harley Davidson when they were struck by Vucetic's motorcycle as it traveled into the eastbound lane. Both were ejected from their motorcycle.

Vucetic was transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and then transferred to Albany Medical Center due to broken bones and lacerations. Amy Lombardi was transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for scrapes and bruising, according to a release from Trooper Barton.

Bennington Fire Department, Bennington Rescue Squad and Bennington Police Department responded to the scene. All Service Citgo removed the motorcycles from the roadway.

The weather did not play a factor in the incident, according to the report.

The crash is currently under investigation. Those with further information about the incident may contact the Vermont State Police in Shaftsbury.
