Defensive driving course

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- The Northeast New York Safety and Health Council will sponsor the Defensive Driving Course at the Hoosick Falls Health Center on Saturday Jan. 4, starting at 8:30 a.m. on Danforth Street.

Library book sale

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- The Cheney Library will have their monthly book sale on Saturday, Jan. 4, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This month all books are half price; books will cost $. 25 and $. 50.

Farmers market

BENNINGTON -- The Walloomsac Farmers Market invites you to the first farmers' market of the new year on Saturday, Jan. 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, on West Main and Valentine Streets.

Pick up locally grown produce, dairy products, eggs, and meats; baked goods, jams and maple syrup; and lots of arts and crafts. Additional parking is available behind the church.

Legion bingo

BENNINGTON -- Bingo at American Legion Post 13 is held every Sunday. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Bingo starts at 3 p.m. No one under 14 admitted.

Bennington VFW breakfast

BENNINGTON -- The Bennington VFW Post 1332, 137 North St., hosts a senior breakfast on the first Sunday of the month beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing "until gone." Donation: $3. Call 802-442-9857 with questions.

Living Gospel Ministry to perform at All Saints Church

HOOSICK, N.Y. -- On Sunday, Jan. 5 at 9:30 a.m. All Saints Church will host the Living Gospel Ministry's dramatic reenactment of the "Sermon on the Mount." The parish welcomes the community to join them.

Lasting about 20 minutes, this dramatic retelling is incorporated into the regular Eucharist service and will serve as the sermon for Sunday.
