Domestic Violence Awareness Month film night

BENNINGTON - PAVE (Project Against Violent Encounters) is presenting a weekly series of films and documentaries at the Community College of Vermont during the month of October.

PAVE has chosen movies or documentaries to highlight issues surrounding domestic violence: For Wednesday, Oct. 23, the film is "Sin by Silence," which documents the lives of women who chose to fight back against their abusers and by doing so wound up in prison.

These women then worked to educate the system about the silent and systemic nature of domestic violence by forming the first inmate-initiated action group - Convicted Women Against Abuse.

It will be held in the Community Room at CCV (Community College of Vermont) to watch and discuss.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Films are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Subject matter is suitable and worthwhile for adults and teens.

PAVE will provide popcorn and snacks.

For more information, please contact PAVE at 802-442-2370.
