Children's Halloween Party
POWNAL -- A Children's Halloween Party will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. with Bowie The Clown, sponsored by Pownal Valley Seniors at the Pownal Center firehouse.
Film night in Domestic Violence Awareness Month
BENNINGTON -- PAVE (Project Against Violent Encounters) will present the final film in its weekly series of films and documentaries at the Community College of Vermont on Wednesdays during October.
PAVE has chosen movies or documentaries to highlight these important issues:
October 30: "Miss Representation": How do the media portray women in America? "Miss Representation" highlights how women in America are grossly under-represented in the media as intelligent, dynamic individuals holding positions of power and esteem. Director Jennifer Seibel Newsom questions why superficiality for female characters has become the status quo. Is a woman's worth only skin-deep?
Film will be shown in the Community Room at CCV. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Films are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Subject matter is suitable and worthwhile for adults and teens. PAVE will provide popcorn and snacks. For more information, please contact PAVE at 802-442-2370.

This meeting is primarily scheduled as an All Board and Prudential Committee Members' Retreat, "How Things Work," with an abbreviated SVSU meeting.
5 to 6:30 p.m. -- SVSU Governance in Relation to Member Districts; collective bargaining agreements
6:30 -- 40-minute dinner break. All non-SVSU Board members will eat dinner together as the SVSU Board members hold their October meeting. They will rejoin the retreat at 7:15 p.m.
