JOHNSONVILLE, N.Y. -- The Thrift Shop at Christ United Methodist Church just south off Route 67, is open every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon. Most clothing items are priced at $1 per bag.

Gentle yoga for cancer survivors

BENNINGTON -- Gentle Yoga for Cancer Survivors meets weekly, on Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m., in Conference Room C, at SVMC. Historical Society meeting

GRAFTON, N.Y. -- The Grafton Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the Grafton Town Hall. Bob Mayo will give a presentation on how digitized New York State newspapers available on the Internet can be used to research local and family history. He will discuss some of what he learned about Taconic Lake history and his own family history in the process. The program is free and the public is welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Grand opening of Vets' center

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- MCLA will present a ribbon cutting Wednesday, April 16, at noon in Venable Hall, room 309, for its Veteran's Resource Center. This Center will provide MCLA veterans with the essential components in assessment and screening, general academic support systems, professional and peer support, outreach, student organizations, wellness, and access to training and campus-based computer technology. This event is free and open to the public.

Poetry reading at Bennington

BENNINGTON -- The Poetry at Bennington series presents a reading and discussion with Spencer Reece, whose debut collection "The Clerk's Tale" was chosen for the Bakeless Poetry Prize and adapted into a short film by James Franco. He will be at the Tishman Lecture Hall at Bennington College at 7 p.m.
