Summer Sonatina piano camp concerts
BENNINGTON -- Summer Sonatina International Piano Camp will hold free public piano concerts at the Bennington Center for the Arts (Route 9, 44 Gypsy Lane) at 6 p.m. on Thursdays, July 17 and July 24. Solo piano pieces and chorus are performed by students, ages 7-16, from all over the world. A reception will follow the immediately after the concert.

Pownal Legion bingo
POWNAL -- The American Legion Post 90 in Pownal holds bingo on Thursdays. Doors open at 5 p.m., bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. promptly.
Snack Bar available. Cookie jar and progressive games. Everyone is invited to attend.
Bennington Free Clinic hours
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Free Clinic is held each Thursday starting at 6 p.m. This clinic is for uninsured people 18 years of age or older, who would otherwise fall through the cracks of our fractured health care system. It is located in the First Baptist Church at 601 Main St. Call 802-447-3700 for an appointment.

NORTH BENNINGTON -- The Food Shelf at the North Bennington Baptist Church is open every Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Senior Center activities
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Senior Center will be holding RSVP Bone Builders from 8:30-9:45 and 10-11:15 a.m.; Quilting from 1-3 p.m., and Beginning Belly Dance from 5-7:30 p.m.
Activities at Bennington Free Library
BENNINGTON -- Join Bennington Free Library for Fizz, Boom, Create! Thursdays. This is a hands-on workshop for 6-12 year olds at 2 p.m. in the Rotary Room. Preregistration is required. Also, join us for VEEP Power; Vermont Energy Education Program will present a hands-on workshop on electricity and the environment for fifth to eighth graders from 3:30-5 p.m. Preregistration required.
Bennington Walk to End Alzheimer's: Kickoff reception
BENNINGTON -- On Thursday, July 17. from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Memory Clinic, 357 Shields Drive. Do you have thoughts on how we can grow our Bennington Walk? Come and share your ideas. Get your team registered, find out how you can volunteer to help grow this year's Walk, learn about Walk Central where you can find tools to help support your fundraising efforts and much more. Summer Adult Art workshops at SVAC
MANCHESTER -- The Southern Vermont Arts Center's Summer Art Workshop Series continues with a slate of courses, for a variety of skill levels, offered by nationally and internationally recognized artists and instructors. Pastels, watercolor and oil painting are on the syllabus.
"Achieving Gorgeous Color & Luminous Light" with Robert Carsten, July 29 through August 2. This exciting workshop will explore various ways to correspond the subject of landscape with contemporary artistic concerns. All skill levels and media welcome.
"Introduction to Landscape in Watercolor" with Robert O'Brien, July 30 through August 2. This four-day workshop will cover the basic principles of landscape painting in the watercolor medium, and will be geared to the beginning and intermediate painter.
"Painting Still Life in Oils" with Elizabeth Torak, August 7 through August 9. The goal of this workshop is to make still life come alive, starting with a discussion of the palette and a demonstration of how to begin a painting. For beginners through advanced artists.
"Pastel Landscapes from Photographs" with Mallory Rich, August 16 through August 17. This workshop for beginning and intermediate artists will provide instruction and practice in producing landscape paintings in pastel from your own photographs.
"Watercolor Plein Air Painting" with Ned Reade, August 22 through August 24. Ned Reade has taught watercolor workshops on Martha's Vineyard for more than 25 years and is excited to exchange harbors, buoys and boats for the mountains, fields, and farms of Vermont. For beginners through advanced artists.

Dorset Theatre Festival to present "All in the Timing"
DORSET -- Dorset Theatre Festival is excited to present the 20th Anniversary Revival of David Ives' classic comedy "All in the Timing," opening July 24. "All in the Timing," a collection of six zany comedies, will be directed by DTF favorite and resident director Jenn Thompson, known to local audiences for her productions of "Noises Off," Boeing-Boeing" and "Barefoot in the Park." The cast features Mark Alhadeff, whose New York credits include the Broadway production of "Venus in Fur" and "Beyond Therapy" at The Actors Theatre; Kelly McAndrew, who starred in the recent Broadway revival of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"; and Adam Harrington, who has been seen in "Everything is Ours" at ColtCoeur.
Performances of "All in the Timing" run July 24 through August 9, with evening performances at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday (some Tuesdays) and matinees at 3 p.m. on Wednesdays and Sundays (some Saturdays).
