Spaghetti and meatball dinner

ARLINGTON -- The Arlington American Legion spaghetti and meatball Ddnner will be held at 5 p.m., until the food is gone. Call the Legion at 802-375-6157 with any questions.

Senior Center activities

BENNINGTON -- Bennington Senior Center activities will include ceramics from 9 to 11 a.m.; oil painting from 9 a.m. to noon; bingo will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Homebuyer education workshop

BENNINGTON -- A homebuyer education workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Vermont Department of Health,169 North St. This workshop meets the lender requirement for homebuyer dducation. Topics covered include affordability and the loan process, shopping for a home, home inspection, insurance and more. Lunch provided. There will be a $60 workshop fee. Registration is required.

All Saints Youth Ministry Event today

HOOSICK, N.Y. -- All Saints Youth Ministry Pizza and Game Night on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at All Saints Church in Hoosick will hold its first Youth Ministry meeting of the new year. All local youth from grades 6 through 12 are warmly welcome to come for pizza, games and fellowship. The Youth Ministry will also discuss plans for this year’s community outreach.

Parkinson’s Support Group

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Northern Berkshire Parkinson’s Support Group will hold its first meeting of 2013 today at 10:30 a.m. at Williamstown Savings Bank, 795 Main St., lower-level board room.

Parkinson’s Disease is a progressive disorder of the central nervous system affecting more than 1.5 million people in the United States. The American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc. sponsors 65 chapters and more than 250 affiliated support groups which provide education, counseling, assistance and referrals throughout the United States.


Swim lessons for children

BENNINGTON -- A new session of swim lessons for children at the Bennington Rec Center will start Monday, Jan. 28, and will run to Thursday, Feb. 14. Levels 2, 3, 4, 5 are 4 - 4:30 p.m. And level 1 is from 4:30 - 5 p.m.

Lessons are Monday through Thursday. Residents must have a membership and pay the $5, registration fee. Non-residents have the option of purchasing a membership or paying $3 per lessons.
