Medicare Minute coming to town
BENNINGTON -- The Vermont Senior Medicare Patrol program is beginning to roll out the new Medicare Minute update at the Bennington Senior Cafe at the Bennington Senior Center on Pleasant Street.
The Medicare Minute is designed by the Medicare Rights Center to be a quick monthly update on what is new with Medicare and how to avoid fraud in healthcare. This is designed to be targeted to all Medicare beneficiaries.
The New Medicare Minute will be held at the Bennington Senior Cafe from noon to 12:30 p.m. on the second Friday of every month.
Senior Center activities
BENNINGTON -- On Fridays in July the Bennington Senior Center will be holding Sculpture from 9-11 a.m., Painting from 9 a.m. to noon, and Bingo from 1-3 p.m.

Basket raffle fundraiser
MANCHESTER -- Mark Skinner Library is brimming with fantastic gift baskets for children, teens, and adults. The annual basket raffle fundraiser is underway. Proceeds will benefit the library's summer reading program.
Come and see this year's children's raffle baskets in the children's department at the library. Kids who participate in the Summer Reading Program can earn free raffle tickets for a wonderful selection of themed baskets filled with books and an assortment of toys. Parents, you can enhance your children's chances to win by purchasing additional raffle tickets! There are also some exciting selections for teens to spruce up the long weeks of summer vacation, or to begin getting ready for an exciting new beginning at college in the fall! For the adults there is the "Day & Night Raffle" with offerings from local businesses you will want to enjoy. There will be an early drawing for musical and theatrical performances that are not to be missed. Enjoy an evening out in Dorset, Weston or Manchester at a concert or theater, coupled with certificates for some favorite restaurants. Enjoy a movie at home while indulging in mouthwatering chocolate treats, or a glass of great wine, after spending a luxurious day at the Spa. More choices await you.
An early drawing will be held on July 19 for theater performances at the Dorset Theater, the Weston Theater, and for the Manchester Music Festival's Young Artists Series. The drawing for all other raffle items will be August 16.

Purchase your raffle tickets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-6; Wednesdays, 10-8; and Fridays and Saturdays, 10-4 at the library, which is located at 48 West Road in Manchester Village.
Vermont Beekeepers Association meeting
BENNINGTON -- Bennington County Beekeepers Club Limited is hosting Vermont Beekeepers Association summer meeting on July 12 from 9-3 p.m. at Grace Christian School, 104 Kocher Drive.

Attendees should bring association membership dues, $15 individual or $25 family, a beekeeper veil for hive inspection with Vermont bee inspector if weather permits, and, if participating in meal, bring dish as assigned on the website.
