BENNINGTON -- Bennington Senior Center activities for Friday will include ceramics from 9 to 11 a.m.; oil painting from 9 a.m. to noon; and bingo from 1 to 3 p.m. The Knights of Columbus hosting Holy Hour
BENNINGTON -- Grand Knight of the Bennington Knights of Columbus Council # 307 Michael Daly has announced that a Holy Hour in Honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe is scheduled for this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Chapel at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church, 238 West Main St. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the Americas and of Life. The traveling Icon of Our Lady of Guadalupe is on display in the chapel and will remain there until Dec. 22. The Icon is a replica of the Image of Our Lady that is on the Tilma (cloak) of Juan Diego, the Mexican Indian to whom Our Lady appeared in 1531.
The Holy Hour will include the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, a benediction service, the rosary, prayers for the respect of life from conception to natural death and prayers to end abortion.
Church bells to ring
BENNINGTON -- Area churches will be ringing the bells today at 9:30 a.m. in honor of the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting last Friday in Newtown, Conn.
CAT-TV holiday programming
BENNINGTON -- CAT-TV will offer special holiday programming on Channel 15 beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24, and throughout the day on Tuesday, Dec. 25, ending at 7p.m.
Produced through the efforts of new production coordinators Mike Cutler and Dan May the program features some of this season's favorite stories as read by local personalities Darlene Young, Willy Jones and Eric Peterson. Viewers will also enjoy a traditional Yule Log along with holiday music.
Also of note, are the holiday hours for CAT-TV. The station closes at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24, closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 25 and 26, for the Christmas holiday, reopening on Thursday, Dec. 27. The station will close at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1, and reopens on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Bennington Free Library announces holiday schedule
BENNINGTON -- The library will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24, and remain closed through Dec. 25 for the holiday. The library will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and remain closed through Jan. 1 for the holiday.
