Ham and bean supper and dessert auction
EAST ARLINGTON -- Happy Days Playschool will host the annual Ham and Bean Supper and Dessert Auction sponsored by the Men’s and Women’s Groups of the East Arlington Federated Church. The Family Style Supper offers ham (macaroni and cheese for the kids), homemade baked beans, cole slaw, rolls, drink and dessert.
Following the dinner, the famous "Dessert Auction," with auctioneer Dick Coss will be held. You can bid on cakes, pies, tortes, cheesecakes or cookies and maybe even go home with a special treat baked by Nathan Johnson, chef and owner of Lil’ Britain’s Fish & Chips in Bennington. Even if you can’t attend the dinner, bring your "Special Valentine" to the auction and bid on a delicious dessert to take home.
The supper will be held at 6 p.m. at Bailey Hall, with the Dessert Auction beginning at 7 p.m. A free will offering will be accepted for dinner, with all proceeds to benefit Happy Days Playschool. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Williams College Department of Music presents Club Zambezi Dance Party. Led by Artist-in-Residence in African Music Performance Tendai Muparutsa, this group of young performers promises to heat up the dance floor in the midst of the winter. The first Club Zambezi Dance Party takes place in the Greylock Dining Hall at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14. The second is at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15 in the same venue. These free events are open to the public.
Club Zambezi Dance Party combines a unique musical collaboration with irresistible dance beats. The musicians of Zambezi perform on specially designed and custom made marimbas -- the Zambezi group has an even wider range than its African marimba-band cousins. Zambezi’s hybrid instruments are capable of playing a huge variety of music including traditional and contemporary dance music. There is no band or set of instruments like these anywhere else in the world.
Whether you come to dance the evening of Valentine’s Day away, or you want to bring the whole family to the Saturday afternoon performance, the Club Zambezi Dance Party is the perfect way to shake off the snow, break the ice, and enjoy an amazing African dance vibe.
Greylock Dining Hall is on the Williams College campus.
