Volunteer days at the armory

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- HAYC3 is about to embark on the ambitious task of readying the armory for new events and programs to benefit the entire community -- and they need help.

Volunteer Days will be held today and Feb. 23, starting at 9 a.m. The aim is to turn the structure into a thriving hub for events, markets, galleries, recreation, studios, and more. If you can hold a paintbrush, push a broom, make a sandwich, change a light bulb, or simply make a neighbor laugh, then you are needed. Stop by for any period that fits into your schedule. Any gift of time will be greatly appreciated.

MANCHESTER -- Join Debbie Post as she leads a Star Journey program at the Mark Skinner Library from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Kids 7 and up can paticipate in this relaxed, playful, Super Saturday program designed to foster imagination and creativity through guided imagery and art experience.

Saint Mary’s Academy Valentine’s dinner dance

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Celebrate Valentine’s Day today with "3’s Harmony!" at the Valentine’s Day dinner dance at St. Mary’s Academy. Tickets are on sale now and reservations are required. Contact St. Mary’s Academy at 518-686-4314 for tickets and information. Proceeds to benefit SMA.

Rabies clinic in Shaftsbury

SHAFTSBURY -- A rabies clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Buck Hill firehouse. Rabies vaccines are $12 per shot.

Sunday, Feb. 17

Grange pancake breakfast

ARLINGTON -- The Battenkill Grange No. 487 pancake breakfast will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. The menu includes pancakes, sausages, real Vermont maple syrup, homefries, sausage, gravy and biscuits. The cost is adults, $6; children under 12, $3. The Grange is located on Route 313 West at the covered bridge.


Town Offices closed

BENNINGTON -- Bennington Town Offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 18, in observance of Presidents’ Day and will reopen Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 8 a.m.
