Bennington Lions meeting

BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Lions will hold its September Board of Directors meeting, starting at 5:30 p.m. in the TD Bank conference room. All members are urged to attend. Overeaters Anonymous meeting

BENNINGTON -- Overeaters Anonymous meets on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at the Bennington Free Library, 101 Silver St.

HFCS opening this week

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Here is a schedule of Hoosick Falls Central School opening activities this week:

Tuesday and Wednesday: Superintendent conference days (no students)

Tuesday: Open house for grades UPK, K, 1 and 2 (6 to 7:30 p.m.)

Thursday: Open house for grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 (6 to 7:30 p.m.)

Students in grades UPK to 12 will begin with a full day of instruction on Thursday. Breakfast and lunch will be provided as usual. Students should follow their regular bus assignments and schedules.

Also, every year, all free/reduced applications must be filled out and returned before the first day of school. Any questions, contact Heather Brooks at 518-686-7321, ext. 1708.

Bereavement Support

BENNINGTON -- A weekly adult grief support group for those who have lost a loved one is held every Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Vermont Veterans Home on North Street. For more information, call VNA & Hospice of SVHC at 802-442-5502.


Gary "Gig" Antognioni Benefit Golf Tournament

BENNINGTON -- A golf tournament in memory of the late Gary "Gig" Antognioni, a Bennington native, will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Mount Anthony Country Club. Registration will be at noon, start playing at 1 p.m. Format will be a four-person scramble. Cost of $100 per player includes golf, cart, prizes and post tournament party.
