ARLINGTON -- Battenkill Grange will meet at the Grange Hall on at 7 p.m. There will be several important topics to discuss, so members should try to attend this meeting. Remember to bring an item for the Arlington Food Shelf. Refreshments will be served. Pownal Legion Auxiliary meeting
POWNAL --The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 90 in Pownal, Vermont will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at American Legion Post 90 on Route 7. President Linda Moxley will preside over the meeting. All members are urged to attend. Committee chair members will be appointed for the 2013-2014 year. Programs for the veterans will be discussed. New members are welcome and applications will be available.

Auction to benefit Bullock building
READSBORO -- The annual fall auction will be held on Saturday, Sept.13 at the EJ Bullock Building, Main Street, Readsboro beginning at noon. A preview of items will be at 9 a.m. A larger than ever selection of dropleaf tables, chairs, old bottles and other attic treasures will be auctioned by Bob Tool assisted by Bob Lambert. Food and beverages will be available. All proceeds will go to the Bullock Building basement renovations. Donations of items will be gratefully accepted.
