NYSERDA Residential Energy Efficiency Programs presentation

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- On Tuesday, July 15, at 7 p.m. The First Baptist Church will host a free presentation by The New York State Energy Research & Development Authority Capital Region Outreach Contractors -- no cost to attend and open to the community. The ROCs will present on residential energy efficiency and renewable energy programs available to homeowners and renters.

If participants are interested in submitting an application, the ROCS will be available to assist them with this. To complete an application you will need to bring a copy of your most recent utility payments (electric, natural gas, oil, propane). There is no obligation to fill out an application.

Bingo Tuesdays at Bennington Moose

BENNINGTON -- Bingo is held Tuesdays at the Bennington Moose. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Storytime at Cheney Library

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Cheney Library will have storytime for preschoolers and their caregivers on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Several of the classic tales and songs. There will be crafts and snacks. Plan to come with your preschool child; it will be lots of fun for both of you.

Overeaters Anonymous meeting

BENNINGTON -- Overeaters Anonymous meets on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at the Bennington Free Library, 101 Silver St.

Bereavement support group

BENNINGTON -- Weekly adult grief support for those who have lost a loved one, every Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Vermont Veterans Home on North Street.

Playgroup for toddlers and parents

BENNINGTON -- The Bennington County Child Advocacy Center is sponsoring a play and education group for 2- to 5-year-olds and their parent/guardian. The activities include: Fine motor skill activities, music, story time, social skills activities, snack time, and free play. BENNINGTON -- On Tuesdays in July, the Bennington Senior Center will be holding RSVP Bone Builders from 8:30-9:45 and 10-11:15 a.m. and HELP from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Stick Rocket Build and Launch program for kids

GRAFTON, N.Y. -- On Tuesday, July 15 at 11 a.m., kids will have a chance to build their own rockets and launch them from a giant catapult at the Grafton VFW Fire Hall.

In this free program for children third grade and up, experts from Empire State Aeronautics Museum will teach about the science of flight and how to build an aerodynamic rocket. Participants will then be able to do a real flight test. This program, sponsored by Grafton Community Library will be held at the VFW Fire Hall as part of the Grafton Summer Youth Program but will be open to the entire community. Meditation for Everyone sessions

BENNINGTON -- Meditation has been practiced for millennia, and is a way for the mind to begin to know itself. This knowing moves us towards freedom, self-acceptance, kindness and compassion. Our hearts become more open. We move towards happiness. Please join us Tuesday evenings from 7-8 p.m. at The Bennington Free Library. $1 requested contribution if possible.

Beginning and experienced meditators are welcome. Chairs are available. If you wish to sit on a cushion, please bring one. Sessions will be facilitated by: Randy Anselmo, Maggie Bernstein, John Hearst, Natasha Judson, Eve Pearce and Jane Schaeffer.

Southern Vermont Myeloma Support Network meeting

BENNINGTON -- Southern Vermont Myeloma Support Network (including the Berkshires and eastern New York) will hold a Support Group meeting on Tuesday, July 15, 6-8 p.m., in the Community Resource Room at the SVMC Regional Cancer Center, 140 Hospital Drive. Interested patients, caregivers, family members and friends are encouraged to join us. Remember, knowledge is power, so learn and share as much as possible about myeloma. MAU 2014 Yearbook Spring Supplements and Class of 2015 Senior Portraits

BENNINGTON -- The 12-page yearbook spring supplements are ready for pick up at the high school. This yearbook extended edition includes pictures from graduation, proms, spring sports, and spring concerts. If you purchased a 2014 yearbook, this supplement is yours for free. It adheres to the back of your yearbook so you have all the memories in one spot.

You can pick up your supplement in the MAUHS cafeteria July 21-24, from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Prestige Portraits will be at MAUHS July 21-24 for free Senior Portrait sittings. Class of 2015 members should have received appointment times for this week or will be notified for appointments on Aug. 21 or 22.

Hillary Rodham Clinton book signing

SARATOGA, N.Y. -- On Tuesday, July 29, at 12:15 p.m., Northshire Bookstore Saratoga will host a book signing with former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, author of "Hard Choices." She will sign copies of her new book, "Hard Choices."

Tickets are required. A limited number of tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on July 14. Tickets are free with the purchase of one copy of "Hard Choices" from Northshire Bookstore. One ticket per book. Purchases may be made in-store or via phone at 855-339-5990. There are no online sales for this event.
