More letters: Bring back our constitutional republic
In response to the recent Graves Registry column -- yes, indeed, there is a "get Obama" movement in this country, growing daily by leaps and bounds.
Sworn to defend our constitution, he has made a mockery of the baselines on which our country was founded -- weakening our military, failing to secure our borders, forgetting campaign promises to correct the V.A. situation, increasing our national debt by nearly $8 trillion in five and a half years, refusing to allow construction of a pipeline, giving us energy independence and providing thousands of jobs. Denying every provable series of lies, cover-ups and scandals in his administration, catering to the least capable instead of rewarding the most capable in our society and on, ad nauseum.
We have been endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights -- life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. There are no guarantees -- if you choose to eat or drink or smoke or drug yourself into bad situations, don’t blame society. God gave you a brain, (no, you can’t use his name in valedictories or military functions anymore) and look in the mirror to see who is responsible for you. What has happened to parental guidance and the lost virtue of personal responsibility?
Yes, Mr. Graves, uncountable millions of your fellow citizens are finally awakening from their deep slumber and realizing to get their country back each of us must take whatever legal steps are required to bring back our Constitutional Republic. As honest Abe stated 151 short years ago "... Government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the earth."
