MAUHS Drama Club to perform 'Peter and the Starcatcher'

BENNINGTON — Fresh off their successful performance of Tony Award-winning "Into the Woods," the MAUHS Drama Club will be performing another Tony Award-winning play, "Peter and the Starcatcher," on Feb. 8, 9 and 10.

Based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, "Peter and the Starcatcher" tells the backstory of the beloved characters Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinkerbell, Mrs. Darling and Captain Hook in this thrilling adventure featuring marauding pirates, jungle tyrants, unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes. This imaginative play is sure to please kids of all ages as they are transported to a faraway land and watch the characters learn about love, friendship and unbreakable bonds.

The Drama Club and its advisers, Tim Foley and Lynn Sweet, have worked together on a number of successful promotions, including "The Addams Family," "The Wizard of Oz," "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" and many others. Club members are involved in all other aspects of theater including set construction, costumes, props, sound and lights.

Showtimes are Feb. 8, 9 and 10 at 7 p.m., with a matinee on Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 and are on sale now at the high school office or at the door.
