MAU shut out Bellows Falls

BELLOWS FALLS >> The Mount Anthony girls softball team continues to rack up the runs as the Patriots scored 16 runs in their shutout win over Bellows Falls on Thursday.

Leading the Patriots' offense was sophomore Kaidin Gauthier who went 3-4 at the plate with two RBIs.

Fellow sophomore Jamie Boyle went 2-4 at the plate for MAU, knocking in an RBI.

Senior Kori Bow also had a two hit day with an RBI for the Patriots in the win.

Sophomore Taylor DiCranian and junior Katie Saunders combined for the complete game shutout on the mound for MAU.

With the win, MAU improves to 10-1 on the season.

MAU will be back on the diamond today when they host rival Burr and Burton at 4 p.m.

Panthers shutout by Tamarac

TROY, N.Y. >> It wasn't a great day at the plate for the Hoosick Falls baseball team on Thursday against Tamarac.

The Panthers offense only mustered five hits in their 3-0 loss to Tamarac.

Senior Alex Mendez had a team-high two hits for Hoosick Falls.

Sophomore Andrew Stevens kept the Panthers in the game with a solid performance on the mound, giving up only three runs on five hits with three strikeouts in his complete game performance.

With the loss, Hoosick Falls drops to 9-7 overall and 7-6 in league play.

Hoosick Falls will try get back on the winning track when they host rival Cambridge today at 4:15 p.m.

Hoosick Falls drops conference contest to Tamarac

TROY, N.Y. >> The Hoosick Falls softball team were no match for Tamarac on Thursday, losing 11-1.

Senior Erika Quackenbush went 2-for-3 at the plate for Hoosick Falls.

Fellow senior Alyssa Ellis had a hit and scored the only Panther run in the loss.

The Panthers will host rival Cambridge today at 4:15 p.m.

Cambridge rolls past Lansingburgh

TROY, N.Y. >> The Cambridge boys lacrosse team continued it's great season with a 14-9 road win over Lansingburgh on Thursday.

Max Ratella scored a team-high six goals in the win for the Indians.

Max Roffer scored three goals to go along with his team-high four assists in the win for Cambridge.

Zach Rowland added two goals and two assists, while Jonas Butz, Cody Oldham and Riley Stefanovich each tallied for the Indians.

MAU golfers top BBA, Otter Valley

MANCHESTER >> The Mount Anthony golf team beat BBA by nine strokes in a match at Manchester Country Club on Thursday.

MAU combined for a 179, with BBA at 188 and Otter Valley close behind with 191.

Ty Galle was the medalist for the Patriots with a 40, while Jack Bushee had a 42, Matt Anderson had a 46 and Brandon Anderson had a 51.

For Burr and Burton, Corey Donnelly was the low scorer with a 44, while Ian MacFarlane, Kevin Ross and Julia Dapron all recorded 48.

Hoosick lacrosse falls to Albany Academy

ALBANY, N.Y. >> The Hoosick Falls girls lacrosse team dropped to Albany Academy 16-6 on Thursday.

Kara LaFlamme led the way with three goals, while Olivia Cushman, Anna Wysocki and Lillian Hickey all had one score apiece.

Madeline Yeung made seven saves for Hoosick Falls, who are 3-10 overall and face MAU today at 4 p.m. at the Helft Complex.

BBA girls bounces back with shutout

MANCHESTER >> The Burr and Burton girls tennis team topped Bellows Falls, 7-0, on Thursday.

All five singles were won in straight sets — Gabby Vella, Cecilia Liu, Bridgett Ring, Sophie Fleming, Maisie Kane — doing the honors.

The doubles team of Lejla and Nerina Muminovic won and the No. 2 doubles, Olivia Kuk and Chloe Mac Donald won in a walkover.

"We showed up in full force today and everyone took care of business," said BBA coach Jeff Grimshaw. On a warm day, it could [have been] very easy to lose focus, but the entire [team] executed flawlessly."
