American Poolplayers Association looking for players
BRATTLEBORO — The APA Pool League, sanctioned by the American Poolplayers Association (APA), is now forming teams throughout Windham, Windsor and Bennington counties in Southern Vermont under the guidance of the new franchisee owner, Kala Fisher.
"I'm excited to bring APA League Play back to the area. Pool is a great way to have fun while getting to know new people," said Fisher.
Each APA Pool League team consists of five to eight amateur players who compete seasonally or year-round in weekly league play. The APA's copyrighted handicap system, The Equalizer, gives amateur players the opportunity to compete equally with players of different levels of skill. By participating in weekly league play, members can qualify to compete in three Championships that award over $1.5 Million in guaranteed cash and prizes every year.
The APA, based in Lake Saint Louis, Mo., sanctions the world's largest amateur pool league, known as the APA Pool League throughout the United States,as the Canadian Pool League in Canada, and the Japanese Pool League in Japan. Nearly 250,000 members compete in weekly 8-Ball and 9-Ball league play. The APA is generally recognized as the Governing Body of Amateur Pool, having established the official rules, championships, formats and handicap systems for the sport of amateur billiards.
The APA produces three major tournaments each year — the APA World Pool Championships, the APA Poolplayer Championships and the U.S. Amateur Championship — that, together, pay out nearly $1.5 million in cash and prizes annually.
For more information or to get signed up with the APA, please contact Kala Fisher at 978-790-3251 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Or you can visit the official APA website at poolplayers.com.
