Local man cited for lewd conduct, unlawful restraint


BENNINGTON -- State Police arrested a Bennington man for allegedly pulling a woman into a wooded area behind a businesses and exposing himself to her while making other, unwanted sexual advances.

According to Vermont State Detective Trooper Robert Zink, on June 16 the Bennington County Special Investigations Unit was contacted about a woman claiming someone had forced her into a sexual situation. She provided police with a statement saying Justin P. Jarvis, 25, of Bennington, pulled her by the hand behind the Tire Warehouse on Benmont Avenue and held her there. He allegedly touched her in a sexual manner, exposed himself, and made her touch him.

The woman made it back to the parking lot and told a relative what had happened.

Jarvis was arrested on Friday and cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court on Monday to answer charges of lewd and lascivious conduct, and unlawful restraint.
