Letters: Public use of the Yellow Barn Field
The Arlington Selectboard wishes to provide information for the public about use of the Yellow Barn Field, which belongs to the Town.
Access by car is from Route 313 West through the gate next to the yellow barn. Do not use the private Springbrook Road for access. Please park in the parking area only. The field is available for dogwalking, hiking, and skiing, and the river can be accessed for fishing. There are rough trails through the woods and along the river.
The community garden is being used for private plots and to grow vegetables for the local School Summer Lunch Program. More gardeners would be welcome for either activity. Christmas trees are being grown on the northern end of the field for future sale. The barn foundation has been replaced, and further repairs are planned.
If you have questions, comments, or suggestions about the use and improvement of this public property, or you would like to help with the projects, please contact Selectboard member Cynthia Browning at 375-9019.
You can also leave a message at the Selectboard office at 375- 6474.
