Letters: He does answer prayer

I’d like to respond to Reverend Gribble’s article in the Banner on Saturday, March 8, "Living the Christian Life today."

Considering the lack of morals in today’s society it can be hard, but if we read the Scriptures, two in particular give me hope and courage: John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent;" and James 1:5-6, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given to him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavereth. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."

In John 5:39 we find this: "Search the Scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life: And they are they which testify of me."

There are plenty of Scriptures encouraging us to pray to him for help and advice. He does answer prayer.
