Letter to the editor: Voters should pick site for new garage

Voters should pick site for new garage

The Select Board is trying for the third time to the put the new town garage at the old dump site off North Road without letting the townspeople approve the site first.

Twice before, the people have voted down the new garage because of the location.

Voters yet have twice approved to buy land next to the site to keep buildings away.

The landfill site garage was dumped into the ground with no liner. Even if it doesn't show it's contaminated. Capping the top didn't make it go away.

The Select Board can put a ballot article on for a March vote.

Shall the new town garage be built at old dump site off North Road.

This way the people decide. This not asking people is just like doing Cold Springs without first asking the people.
