Letter to the editor: Raffle a success for Bennington's PAVE
Raffle a success
The Board of Directors of PAVE, Project Against Violent Encounters, is happy to announce that we made $1278 in our annual "Pamper Yourself into Spring" raffle. We want to thank Henry and Dina Bronson of Bistro Henry in Manchester who generously donated a dinner for two; Diane Hetherington, Certified Massage Therapist, who donated an hour massage; Mark Vaughan for his gift of a fine wine, and Paula Sherman who contributed a pound of her famous butter crunch chocolate. The lucky winner of the raffle will certainly be able to pamper herself with those delightful gifts, and we at PAVE will use those funds to immediately assist women and children in our community who face the nightmare of domestic violence and reach out to us for help.
We'd also like to thank the Bennington Farmer's Market which allowed us to sell our tickets. In fact, the winning ticket was bought at the Farmer's Market, so it clearly brings good luck! Look for our next raffle there later in May. In the fall, come to our annual major fundraiser, this year a wine and gourmet food tasting as well as live and silent auction. And please, take any opportunity to be a contributing supporter of PAVE: volunteer time or make a donation. Find out more about how you can help by calling us: 442-2370. We need your support.
— Susan Hoffmann-Ogier, secretary, PAVE Board of Directors
