Letter to the editor: Greenberg block development is exciting

Excitement for Bennington

I read your article, "Bennington investors to purchase, revitalize downtown Greenberg Block," with great excitement and pride for Bennington. At VSECU, we believe that good things happen when people come together, and this project is a great example of the power of collaboration.

Since opening our Bennington branch just over a year ago, we have been impressed and inspired by the community's willingness to explore and implement innovative ideas and creative partnerships, such as the Bennington Redevelopment Group, to help spur economic development at the local level. The collaboration of businesses, civic organizations and individuals that are leading the charge in this latest revitalization effort illustrates how we, as Vermonters, can work together to create a big impact.

Congratulations and thank you to the Bank of Bennington, Southwestern Vermont Health Care, Bennington College, Southern Vermont College, Global-Z International, Brian McKenna, Anthony and Jacqueline Marro, and all those involved. I believe this is a terrific opportunity to create meaningful and positive change for Bennington, and I thank you for your leadership.

VSECU stands ready to support this important and ambitious project, and we look forward to seeing the successful revitalization of Bennington's iconic Greenberg Block.

— Rob Miller, CEO of VSECU Shelburne
