Letter: Norshaft Lions grateful to food drive donors

To the Editor:

The Norshaft Lions would like to sincerely thank the communities of Bennington, North Bennington and Shaftsbury. Their generosity made our `Food From the Heart' February food drive a huge success. With the help of Shaftsbury School, North Bennington Graded School, The Bank of Bennington, Peckham Precast, NSK Engineering Systems, Price Chopper Supermarkets, and Poulin Grain Store, as well as members of the community who saw it in their hearts to help those in need, we were able to collect over 8,400 pounds of food. Not only was there food and items for people collected, but pet food collected as well.

The food shelves at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington, North Bennington Baptist Church, Shaftsbury Methodist Church and at Second Chance Animal Shelter will be well stocked for quite some time, all thanks to the wonderful people in our community who came together to fight hunger in our area.

To all of you, we are so appreciative.

Carrie Houlihan,

King Lion of Norshaft Lions
