Letter: 'A Green Mountain Christmas' thank-you

To the Editor:

On Dec. 15 and 16, 2017, Green Mountain Christian Center conducted our ninth annual "A Green Mountain Christmas." The congregation, with the support of local businesses, service clubs and individuals, gave away over 1,500 gifts and were able to help approximately 250 families. Parents and grandparents were thankfully thrilled to go home with wrapped new toys in preparation for Christmas morning.

While parents "shopped" free of charge, in the gift room, their children enjoyed cookies and cider, decorating gingerbread houses, listening to Christmas music and Christmas stories.

A merry "thank you" to the following merchants, service clubs, and individuals for their enthusiasm and generosity in partnering with us to make this event such a joyful success. May God Bless you:

Anytime Fitness, Albany Police Athletic League, Arnold, Ashley, Bank of Bennington, Bennington Sports & Graphics, Bennington Suberu, Big Boys Toys, Bringing You Vermont, Citizens Bank, Colco (Bennington Car Wash), Community Bank, N.A., Cummings & Dailey, Dupee Enterprises (Martin's Mini Mart), B.P.O.E #567, Gamers Grotto, Gardner Motor Sports, Gift Garden, Grantham, Liz, Green Mountain Tile, Jay's Cards & Gifts, K&J Discount Center, Knap's, Lagatta, Regina, Madison Brewing Co., Inc., Maple Leaf Realty, NorShaft Lions Club, O'Klein, Kate, Richards Group (Wills Insurance), RICHCO Products, Inc., Sonny's Blue Benn Diner, Touhey, Jennifer, Trustco Bank, Valerie Negrete & family, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Vine & Branches and Wassick Tire.

One hundred percent of all donations are used towards the purchase of toys. To become a part of this event, donations are accepted all year in anticipation of even a bigger event next year. Please send your checks to Green Mountain Christian Center, 440 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201, and mark them Christmas 2018.
