Lane reopens on Vt.’s Interstate 89 after sinkhole

MILTON (AP) -- The lanes of Interstate 89 south in the Vermont town of Milton have reopened after a sinkhole forced road crews to close the travel and breakdown lanes.

Police say the sinkhole was discovered at about 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Crews from the Vermont Agency of Transportation made repairs for much of the day.

There’s no immediate word on what caused the sinkhole to form.
