Kevin Corrado named president and publisher of New Haven Register
Digital First Media today named Kevin Corrado the president and publisher of the New Haven Register.
Corrado also will lead operations at The Register Citizen, The Middletown Press, Connecticut Magazine and Digital First Media's portfolio of Connecticut weeklies.
"Kevin brings a wealth of experience and a record of success to this new opportunity," said Guy Gilmore, Digital First Media's executive vice president for the eastern region. "Kevin is an experienced publisher with a strong leadership background. Kevin's leadership style, his familiarity with the region and his community-focused approach made him the right choice to take over as president and publisher of the New Haven Register."
Corrado most recently served as president and Publisher at New England Newspapers Inc., which includes The Berkshire Eagle; The Bennington (Vt.) Banner; The Brattleboro (Vt.) Reformer; and The Manchester (Vt.) Journal.
"The New Haven Register has a renewed focus on investigative and public service reporting and I am proud to be joining that team. Our sales and marketing divisions continue to develop new and innovative ways to serve clients and I am eager to get started," Corrado said.
Prior to joining Digital First Media, Corrado served as publisher for the Green Bay (Wis.) Press-Gazette, the Manitowoc Herald Times Reporter and Bay Publications -- a position he held with Gannett Co. Inc.
Corrado's career with Gannett began in 1985, where he served successively as a computer operator for Gannett/USA Today in Chandler, Ariz.; IT director for the Green Bay Press-Gazette; IT director for Gannett's Wisconsin Group; and vice president of operations for the Wisconsin Group, prior to being named president and publisher.
Corrado was awarded five president's rings -- four in technology and one as publisher -- during his time with Gannett.
Corrado and his wife, Angela, have two adult children. Their son, Alex, is a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and their daughter, Kasey, is a graduate of St. Norbert College.
Corrado will be relocating to greater New Haven in the coming weeks.
Digital First Media has started an immediate search, both internally and externally, for Corrado's successor at New England Newspaper Inc.
