Joint replacement surgery discussion in Dorset

About Dr. Lighthart
Dr. Lighthart, the head of the Joint Replacement Team at Rutland Regional Medical Center is an expert in primary and complex hip and knee replacement surgery. A surgeon at Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic at Rutland Regional Medical Center, Dr. Lighthart is an avid a skier, snowboarder and fly fisherman and former NCAA collegiate football player.
He grew up in Buffalo New York, went to Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania and then returned to Buffalo for medical school. After that, he spent six years training in orthopedic surgery at Union Memorial Hospital, Johns Hopkins University and The University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He then spent an additional year receiving fellowship training in hip and knee replacement surgery at Rush University and Central Dupage Hospitals in Chicago, Illinois before moving to Rutland, Vermont. He is dedicated to the treatment of injuries and degenerative conditions utilizing the outstanding resources available to him and his team at Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic and Rutland Regional Medical Center.
