Hoosick Falls cruises on lanes


GRANVILLE, N.Y. >> The Hoosick Falls bowling team had their first match of the season at Granville on Tuesday winning 4-0. Hoosick Falls had a match total of 3,722 to Granville's 2,494.

A.J. Hurlburt led the way for Hoosick Falls with a 715 series and 256 high game, while Josh McCart was right behind with a 711 series and a 299 high game.

"The team bowled great for the first match of the season on away lanes. Josh bowled an outstanding first game of 299 along with some other great scores by the varsity bowlers," said coach Bob Lang.

Senior Kyla Day started the season with a 641 series and 236 high game and Jon Bossoni just missed the plateau with a 599 series.

The top bowler for Granville was Dawson Goodspeed with a 180-503.

Cambridge falls late to Bulldogs

SOUTH GLENS FALLS, N.Y. >> A 12-point run in the final three minutes doomed Cambridge in a season-opening 40-30 loss to South Glens Falls on Tuesday.

Cambridge led by two with three minutes left before Bulldogs' leading scorer Alexa Brown scored six of the last 12 points. She had 14 overall.

The Indians were led by Helen Mooney's 15 points and eight rebounds, while Lynn Brownell was second with four points after dealing with foul trouble. Cambridge travels to Corinth for a quick turnaround today.
