SUNDERLAND — GNAT-TV, the Northshire's community media center, and Elliott Greenblott, Vermont coordinator of the AARP Fraud Watch Network and a regular columnist for the Banner, are partnering to produce a monthly television show providing specific information about the latest financial and identity scams and how to avoid them.

On "Mr. Scammer," hosted by Greenblott, viewers will learn how to protect themselves, hearing from experts on a variety of topics such as identity theft, investment fraud and internet fraud.

GNAT's executive director, Tammie Reilly, said, "This program is one initiative that meets our goal to provide unfettered information to our local community. The up-to-date information and expertise that Elliott offers our viewers is invaluable, watching the program is a quick and easy way to stay informed."

Greenblott adds, "Fraud and con artists have become sophisticated and a constant threat whether by phone, by mail, in person or on the internet. Our goal is to educate the public on scams that we are facing on a daily basis while presenting some suggestions for self-defense that are practical and effective."

"Mr. Scammer" airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. on GNAT channels 15 and 8. All GNAT programs may also be viewed online at www.gnat.tv.
