Friends, family influence visits to Vermont
MONPELIER (AP) - A tourism survey of visitors to Vermont says many were influenced by friends and family in their decision to travel to the state.
The Vermont Tourism Research Center tells Vermont Public Radio visitors also indicated a strong preference for local foods and beverages.
Tourism officials say the survey results will help them advertise the state more effectively. The state spends about $2 million annually on tourism marketing.
