Flash flood watch issued for much of New Hampshire, Southern Vermont

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - There's a lot of rain in the forecast for the region, with flash flood watches issued for most of New Hampshire and Southern Vermont.

Parts of New Hampshire could get an inch to 3 inches of rain on Wednesday.

"Rain, heavy at times, will fall across the flash flood watch area through around midday as a band of rain associated with a frontal boundary crosses the region from west to east," according to the Nation Weather Service. "Total rainfall amounts associated with this band of rain may reach one to two inches and cause localized urban and small stream flooding."

The rain is expected to taper off by Thursday morning.
