February break activities at the Bennington Museum

BENNINGTON -- Winter Break Activities Planned for Students

Give the kids an opportunity to learn something new during winter break. Bennington Museum offers winter vacation workshops on Feb. 18, 20 and 21. Offering fun and educational activities, each program runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Tuesday’s program was created for children in Kindergarten through Grade 2, while Thursday’s activities are geared toward children in grades 3 through 5. The week wraps-up on Friday, February 21 with a program to intrigue students in grades 6 through 8. The price per workshop is $8 per child per workshop for members and $10 per child per workshop for non-members and includes a snack and all materials.

All three sessions focus on Bennington Modernism and the works found in that gallery. Participants will spend time in the gallery, looking at and talking about art, using art to create poems and other written works, as well as time creating art of their own. Through their artwork, participants will explore the same things the Bennington Modernists did, especially how colors interact, and practice some of the techniques used by the artists.

Pre-registration is required. Classes are subject to minimum and maximum class sizes. To register call 802-447-1571 or email dmallory@benningtonmuseum.org.
