Early voting for Vermont's Aug. 9 primary opens Friday
MONTPELIER, VT. >> Vermont Secretary of State Jim Condos says early voting for the state's Aug. 9 primary election is set to begin.
Starting Friday, any registered voter will be able to request a ballot from their town clerk by phone, mail, or online and cast their vote for the election.
Condos says the elections staff has already finalized and sent out the ballots to town clerks. He says some towns may open their early voting before Friday.
Condos says early voting ensures these people are not left out of the democratic process by giving them more opportunities to cast their vote.
Vermonters have until Aug. 3 to be eligible to vote in the Aug. 9 primary.
