Eagles remain perfect, top Black River

ARLINGTON — The Arlington girls soccer team remained unbeaten this season, ripping off a 12-0 win over Black River on Monday night at the Arlington Rec Park.

Five different players scored for the Eagles, including Tess Belnap with four goals and Haley Mattison with three scores.

Jamie Keel had two tallies, her first scores of the year, and Amiah Olson added a pair of scores, the second and third of her career.

Xandria Hoyt added a goal as well. Belnap and Aimee Frank each had assists, while Shaana Staab had another shutout.

Arlington is 9-0 and travels to Proctor on Thursday for a key Division IV matchup.

Patriots swept by Wahconah

DALTON — The Mount Anthony volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match against Wahconah on Monday.

The sets were 25-5, 25-9 and 25-19.

Jonna Loomis had a pair of kills, while Aditi Patel added a pair of digs. Danielle Moscarello had two aces for the Patriots.

Wahconah was led by Emma Parkington, who had three aces and four kills, and Jess Warren, who had 15 digs and four aces.

Patriots blanked by Rutland

BENNINGTON — The Mount Anthony field hockey team fell 3-0 to Rutland on Monday.

Natalie Mitiguy scored the opening goal for Rutland as they took a 1-0 lead at halftime. Katie Sunderland and Frankie Ettori added tallies in the second half.

Savannah Rogers had six saves and Ashlee Billert added a defensive save. Rogers also made a stop of a penalty stroke late in the first half to keep the Patriots in it.

MAU is 1-5-1 and hosts Brattleboro on Thursday.

Hoosick routs Greenwich on Senior Night

HOOSICK, N.Y. — Hoosick Falls senior Taylor Mann scored four goals and two assists and tied the record for goals in a game as Hoosick Falls won 9-0 over Greenwich.

Mann went into second place on the Panthers' scoring list, passing Grace Delurey, with her 68th career goal.

Darian Morgan added three goals and two assists, while Angela Gonzalez had a goal and two assists. Sydney Eggsware scored a goal as well.

Maddy Yeung had four saves for Hoosick, who are 7-4-1 and travel to Waterford on Wednesday.

Football Youth Night set for Oct. 6

BENNINGTON —     Minutemen Youth Football Night will be held at Mount Anthony's Spinelli Field on Friday, Oct. 6 when the Patriot football team plays host to Otter Valley at 7 p.m. as part of Homecoming weekend. All members of the Bennington area Minutemen tackle and flag football teams will be admitted free of charge by wearing their game jerseys.

Parents are asked to please accompany their children at the game or arrange supervision by a coach or another parent.

A drawing for two free footballs ball signed by the varsity team will be held at halftime for all Minutemen players in attendance.

Track and Treat Halloween Fun Run in North Bennington

NORTH BENNINGTON — The Village School of North Bennington is hosting a 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct 28. There will also be an Obstacle/Adventure Course available for the younger children. Registration is at 8 a.m. with the Family Fun Run/Walk at 9 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk at 9:30 A.M.. 5K Pre-registration is $20, day of race is $25; Family Fun Run $10.

Participants are encouraged to dress in costume and prizes will be given! Bring the entire family to the Village School of North Bennington for a fun morning. Steve Colvin 5K

HOOSICK, N.Y. — The fourth annual Stephen Colvin Memorial 5K is coming on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Wood Memorial Park in Hoosick Falls. The race will begin at 9 a.m. from the park and money raised will benefit the Stephen Colvin Scholarship Fund awards.

Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female overall finishers in both the walk and run categories. Also the top male and female in each of the following categories will receive a medal: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.

T-shirts will be available while supplies last. Early registration is $10 by Sept. 20 and $15 until race day. All students are $10 for registration.
