Driver identified in fatal crash in Cabot


CABOT, VT. >> Vermont State Police have identified a car driver who died after colliding with a truck on U.S. route 2 in the town of Cabot.

The Times Argus reports police say 68-year-old Thomas Barbuto of Medford, Massachusetts, was driving west on Route 2 and lost control of his car Monday afternoon. The vehicle went out of control on the road, which had patches of slush and ice. It crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with the truck.

Police say Barbuto was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not hurt.

The crash is still under investigation.
