Dorset Players to present ‘Carmen’
Please join the Dorset Players on Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. as they host the Hubbard Hall Opera Theater’s condensed piano production of Georges Bizet’s opera "Carmen." Playing the gypsy girl Carmen is mezzo-soprano Kara Cornell and the role of Don Jose will be sung by tenor Alvaro Rodriguez. Also in the cast is bass-baritone Patrick McNally as Zuniga, bass-baritone Charles Martin as Escamillo and soprano Alexis Rodda as Micaela.
This production is under the direction of Jason Dolmetsch and Elizabeth Bonomo will be the pianist.
HHOT will treat you to all of Carmen sizzling hits, including the famous "Habanera" and the irresistible Toreador’s song. The production will be semi-staged and sung in French with supertitles.
