Couple injured in Route 22 rollover crash


WHITE CREEK -- On April 21 at approximately 3:52 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, the Cambridge Fire Department, the Cambridge Rescue Squad and the Cambridge Police Department responded to a one-car motor vehicle accident on State Route 22 in White Creek.

The driver of the vehicle, 82-year-old Donald Bogardus was traveling northbound when the vehicle slid off the right shoulder into the ditch. The vehicle hit a culvert, became airborne and rolled over onto its roof.

Bogardus’ wife, Esther Bogardus, was in the passenger seat. She suffered head injuries and breathing trouble. She was airlifted to Albany Medical Center by a Life Net Helicopter. Donald Bogardus was transported to the same medical center by the Cambridge Rescue Squad for head injuries.
