Bennington Free Clinic Monday hours
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Free Clinic has added Monday hours, in addition to its Thursday schedule. It will be open from 10 a.m. to noon at the First Baptist Church, at 601 Main St. Call for an appointment, 447-3700. Drop-ins will not be seen. Elks hosts bingo
BENNINGTON -- Every Monday, the Bennington Elks hosts bingo. There will be a $1,000 jackpot and 31 games for $13. Food service will beavailable. Dors open at 5:30 p.m. and bingo starts 7 p.m. The Bennington Elks is located at 125 Washington Ave.
Senior Center activities
BENNINGTON -- Bennington Senior Center activities today will include oil painting from 9 a.m. to noon; walking aerobics from 10 to 11 a.m.; bridge/cards from 1 to 4 p.m.; belly dance from 5 to 7:30 p.m.; and massage from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call the Senior Center to sign up at 802-442-1052.
Free ladies' clinics to be offered
BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Free Clinic has scheduled a series of free ladies' clinics to be held on the third Monday of each month from 5 to 8 p.m. The ladies' clinics will be staffed by local medical practitioners who volunteer their time to provide care to women who do not have health insurance. Breast, cervical and cardiac health will be addressed at the clinic. Age-appropriate mammograms, PAP tests, and blood tests will be available.
Clinic staff will be available to apply for the Vermont Ladies First program as well as other state health insurance programs.
Appointments for the ladies' clinic can be made by calling 802-447-3700. The Bennington Free Clinic is a program of Greater Bennington Interfaith Community Services. It is located in the Nichols Education Building of the First Baptist Church, located at 601 Main St. Additional information can be obtained by calling 802-447-3700.
New Yorkers can apply for HEAP
ALBANY, N. Y. -- The State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) has announced that New York's Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) will begin accepting applications for regular benefits on Monday, November 19. HEAP,
overseen by OTDA, provides assistance to help low-income and elderly New Yorkers keep their homes warm in the winter months.
Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as HEAP benefits are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications for regular benefits will be accepted through at least March 15. New York residents can check if they may be eligible for HEAP, and numerous other benefits, by answering a few questions online at myBenefits.ny.gov.

BENNINGTON -- Overeaters Anonymous will meet at 7 p.m. at the Bennington Free Library.
Bingo at Arlington Legion
ARLINGTON -- Bingo will be held at the American Legion. Doors open at 6 p.m. and bingo starts at 7 p.m. Food will be available to purchase. Call the Legion at 802-375-6157 with questions.
5-hour prelicensing class
HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- The Northeast NewYork Safety and Health Council will sponsor the prelicensing course at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (Hoosick Falls Health Center), on Danforth Street, beginning at 3:30 p.m. promptly.
This program requires a pre-registration fee of $40 payable to NENY Safety and a valid New York driver's permit. Successful completion of this class, which includes passing a test, provides the student with the necessary paperwork (MV-278) to take the New York driver's test and is valid for one year.

BENNINGTON -- The Bennington Senior Center will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving.
Berkshire Vegan Network Thanksgiving event
LENOX, Mass. -- In association with the Berkshire Vegan Network, a vegan Thanksgiving celebration will be held at the United Methodist Church of Lenox, 6 Holmes Road. Dinner will begin at 1 p.m. Each person is asked to bring a vegan dish that will serve 10. Bring a place setting and copies of the recipe. Coffee/tea and hot/cold water will be provided.
After the dinner there will be a voluntary share time for people to read a poem, tell a short story, or tell why they are thankful. Guest speakers are Miram Jones and Aram Polster of the V.I.N.E. (Veganism is the Next Evolution) Animal Rescue Sanctuary in Springfield, Vt., will talk about their work in farm animal rescue, and public education and outreach.

SVAC to hold Black Friday art camp
MANCHESTER -- The Southern Vermont Arts Center will host a Black Friday Camp from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include arts and crafts, a light lunch, outdoor play (weather permitting) and a movie and popcorn.
The camp takes place in the studio space of SVAC's Hay Madeira Education Center. Advanced registration is required as space is limited, and is priced at $25 for SVAC members, $30 for non-members.
Used ski and snowboard sale
STRATTON -- Stratton Mountain School will host its annual ski and snowboard sale, Friday, Nov. 23, and Saturday, Nov. 24. The sale will feature used race-stock skis and high-end snowboard equipment being sold by SMS athletes and coaches. In addition, five alpine, Nordic, apparel and snowboard retailers from New England will be on site to sell equipment at special discount prices.
Hours for the event at The Stratton Mountain School will be: Consignment sale equipment drop-off: Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sale 3 to 7 p.m. Note: $5 admission fee for adults, first two hours of the sale on Friday.

Bart Center Celebrates 10th year with film premiere
MANCHESTER -- The award-winning documentary, "The Movement," will be premiered at the Riley Center for the Arts at Burr and Burton Academy at 7 p.m. "The Movement," narrated by Robert Redford and Warren Miller, is a film that highlights how five individuals with disabilities from all walks of life have overcome obstacles and rediscovered the freedom of movement through skiing.
Tickets are available at the Bart Center at Bromley Mountain (802-824-5522, ext. 430) or www.bartcenter.com or at the Riley Center's ticket office on Nov. 24. Tickets are $10 and the proceeds will benefit the programs of the Bart Center.
Turkey Trot or Take-a-Walk
HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- The Turkey Trot or Take-a-Walk will be held at 10 a.m. at the Hoosic River Greenway.
Walk off that Thanksgiving dinner and explore the Hoosic River Greenway, including its newly resurfaced southern section, and the nearby Hoosic River. Meet at the old Water Works off Carey Avenue at 10 a.m. Really wet weather will cancel the event.
