Cause of accident near Orvis remains a mystery
SUNDERLAND -- State police said they don't know what caused an accident Wednesday on Conservation Way in Sunderland, the lane where Orvis Company Inc. is located.
In a written release, police identified 71-year-old Arlene Baer of Manchester as the driver of the single vehicle involved in the crash, which occurred at about 11:15 a.m. Police said her vehicle left the roadway and traveled up a steep embankment and collided with a tree.
The 1999 Lexus SUV vehicle suffered heavy front-end damage. Baer was transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for examination.
