Catamount Tae Kwon Do studio opens

BENNINGTON >> On Sep. 2, Catamount Tae Kwon Do opened up its doors in the Vermont Mill. Classes will be taught by Dale Cobb. This newly located Martial Arts studio will ensure that Tae Kwon Do training will continue to be offered in Bennington after the closure of Griffis Martial Arts last April. Cobb and his two sons studied Tae Kwon Do for 12 years with Master Frank Griffis at Griffis Martial Arts. With Master Griffis' support, Cobb decided to open his own studio as a service to the community.

"I want other parents and children to have the same opportunity to study Tae Kwon Do locally as I have enjoyed with my two sons," Cobb said. He and his eldest son travel to Schenectady twice weekly for further Tae Kwon Do training at Pai's Tae Kwon Do and are preparing to test for the 4th degree black belt, which is considered Master rank. Classes will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on the 4th floor of the South Wing of the Vermont Mill, 160 Benmont Avenue. Classes for age six to eight will be from 4 p.m. to 5. Classes for age nine to adult are from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please visit or our Facebook page at catamounttaekwondo. You are also welcome to call or text Cobb at 802-379-1147.
