Car hits horse in Vt.
MONKTON, Vt. (AP) -- Vermont State Police say a horse suffered minor injuries but a motorist was unhurt after the animal broke free from its keeper and ran in front of a car.
Police say David Wood of South Burlington was driving with his wife on the Monkton Road in Monkton at 7:20 p.m. Saturday when his car struck a large horse that had run into the road.
Officials say the horse, named "Dan," was bruised, but managed to limp his way home.
