Cambridge wins home opener


CAMBRIDGE >> The Cambridge Central boys basketball team, improved to 2-0 on the season with their 65-27 win against New Lebanon on Friday night.

Daniel Genevick, had a game-high 25 points for the Indians and sophomore Brenden Holcomb also dropped in 11 points for Cambridge in the game as well.

Cambridge will host Corinth in their next game on Monday night at 7:30 p.m.

BBA falls to CVU in Kevin Riell Tournament

HINESBURG >> Not the start to open the Kevin Riell Tournament that the Burr and Burton Academy boys basketball team wanted. The Bulldogs lost to Champlain Valley 70-43, in its opening round matchup of the tournament on Friday night. Junior Carter Vickers had a BBA game-high 14 points on the night, with seven rebounds. Fellow junior Cam Bunker dropped in 13 points on the night for the Bulldogs as well.

BBA's next game in the tournament will be against BFA St.Albans on Saturday at 2 p.m.

MAU youth wrestling sign-ups

BENNINGTON >> Sign ups for Mount Anthony Youth Wrestling, will be held next Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Catamount Wrestling Club.

There will also be sign-ups held from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. on December 18 at the High School Cafeteria before the Varsity Wrestling match.

Practices time will be held starting January 4th, from 6-7:15 p.m. for grades K-2 and 6-7:30 p.m. for grades 3-6.

Starting on January 5th, the registration fee will be $ 40.00 with two fund raisers or $ 65.00 without fund raisers.
