Buy cookies, help children
The annual event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the school's multipurpose room. The annual sale is organized by the parent-teacher group, Adults Interested in Monument (AIM).
Some 200-dozen cookies — baked by adults and children, as well as school staff and faculty — are expected to be for sale during the event, according to Melissa Frechette with the event committee.
Cookies will be sold for $8 per pound. All proceeds will benefit Warm the Children, an area fundraiser that buys winter clothing for children ages 4 to 14.
Trays of cookies will be laid out on tables in the school's multipurpose room. Starting at 9 a.m., sweet lovers can start picking out what treats they want. Then, volunteers will weigh the cookies and package them up for people to take home.
Something new this year: A dozen different vendors will be on site to offer their wares to folks looking to round off their holiday shopping.
