Bulldogs top Mt. Abe in Fair Haven tourney

FAIR HAVEN — The Burr and Burton Academy won the consolation game of the Mary Canfield Holiday Tournament, 50-44, on Saturday over Mount Abraham.

Three BBA players scored in double figures, including Stephanie Boucher's game-high 16, while Emily Bleakie added 14 and Hannah Nicholson 11.

Bleakie was named to the all-tournament team, along with Lexi Quenneville, Jesse McKean, Emma Carter and Abby McKearin.

Emma Carter led Mount Abraham (1-6), with 13 points. Fair Haven topped Proctor in the championship game.

In the opening game of the tournament, BBA fell to Proctor.

BBA is 4-4 and hosts South Burlington today at 6:30 p.m.

MAU Nordic Ski team donation drive

BENNINGTON >> The Mount Anthony Union High School Nordic Ski Team is raising money to cover the cost of equipment and ski wax for the 2015-2016 ski season.

Team members will pick up your Christmas tree on Saturday, January 9 between 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. The team is able to pick up trees in North Bennington, Bennington, Shaftsbury, and Pownal.

There is a suggested donation of $5 to $10 for this service. Donations can be attached to the tree in an envelope. The Career Development Center will chip the trees for mulch.
